7 years later

7 years ago I became a mom for the first time I was so excited to meet the little boy who was about to change my life forever.  I remember that day like it was yesterday....probably because it feels like it was just yesterday! He was born at 1:46 in the after noon weighing 7lbs 12 oz and looking just like his daddy.

"I constantly go between wanting you to be my baby forever, and being excited about all the amazing things you'll do in this life"

Kaden never ceases to amaze me, I know I am going to sound biased because he is mine but he is seriously an incredible kind hearted little boy. He might have his wild moments where he doesn't want to listen but what boy doesn't right?! Anything he sets his mind to he is going to do it. Right before Thanksgiving break Kaden's school had a run for the kids called the turkey trot. They had girls do the 1/2 mile first and then the boys. The whole time Kaden kept saying I am going to come in first place. The race started and he was off it was him and another little boy back and forth for first place, you could tell he was getting so tired but he just kept pushing he came in second and I couldn't be more proud. I don't care if he would have came in last he still kept running even when he was tired. He is always doing things to surprise us.We got him a dirt bike for his birthday and he jumps on it and just takes off, of course I was nervous but I knew he would be fine. He has had a dirt bike but it was an electric dirt bike this one is gas powered so much faster and more powerful. Luckily he was very cautious and didn't just take off full speed!

I have to tell this story because this will just prove how sweet he is. We went to Sea World the other day and it ended up getting really chilly at night so we bought a couple of blankets one to keep warm and two so the kids would have a little souvenir from Sea World. Bryleigh was sharing her blanket with me and then she fell asleep so Travis carried her to the car and Kaden ran up beside me took the blanket off of him and said "Here mommy, you can have my blanket" I think I melted into a puddle. What little boy would even think about that, I know he was chilly too so I made him put the blanket around him too and we walked out side by side. He is also the best big brother ever. Don't get me wrong they still fight and he can be mean to her but when it comes down to if she needs her big brother he is right there for her. Always sticking up for her and protecting her. I love the bond between them.

Happy birthday to my little toothless (well two front teeth missing) 7 year old. I hope you continue to reach for the stars and always be yourself. Mommy, Daddy and Sissy love you so so much!!!
